Olivia Palermo Gives Us Weekend Outfit Envy with Her Latest Look

April 6, 2015 @ 5:45 pm

While most of us spend our weekend afternoons wearing a pair of sneakers and the most comfortable sweatshirt imaginable, Olivia Palermo does the exact opposite. The street-style favorite was seen leaving Saint Ambroeus restaurant in SoHo, New York City in what is definitely one of spring’s chicest ensembles.

Not one to trump style for comfort, Palermo sported a leopard coat (lined with a luxurious black fur trim) atop a casual blue turtleneck and neatly distressed ripped jeans. She added a dose of daytime glamour via a black crocodile handbag accessorized with a fuzzy brown keychain.

And just when you thought an ultra-chic look was the key to a picture perfect weekend, Palermo brought along her handsome beau, Johannes Huebl, and their dog Mr. Butler to seal the deal. Cue the collective “aww!”

Naomi Watts Nails Weekend Style in a Denim Shirtdress

Every Monday, like clockwork, we usher in the work week with a slew of updates detailing what our favorite celebs did over the weekend. And, especially in the summertime, few are more exciting to read than those concerning Naomi Watts. When she’s not busy filming, the Australian actress spends nearly every weekend gallivanting around the great outdoors—biking, scootering and generally living life with a capital L—with her husband Liev Schreiber and their two sons, Sasha and Samuel, in tow.

On a recent warm weather jaunt to the Brentwood Farmers’ Market, Watts was spotted rocking the perfect off-duty ensemble: a straw fedora, floral Birkenstocks and a denim shirtdress by Michael Stars. Made of a soft Tencel material that’s washed down and bleached through, the playful frock features reversed fabric on the front pockets, a drawstring to cinch the waist and button-down front. “We wanted to take that perfect, easy denim dress and give it an elevated and modern edge,” Michael Stars co-founder Suzanne Lerner told InStyle.

We can’t help but love the laid-back vibe of Watts’ look. After all, we demonstrated its wearability ourselves just a couple of months ago. If you want to nab the look, you’d better act fast: the Michael Stars Denim Tencel Shirt Dress is currently on sale (score!) for $ 89 at michaelstars.com.

See Our 3 Favorite Looks From the Cannes Film Festival This Weekend!

While we’re lounging in our relaxed weekend gear, the ladies of the Cannes International Film Festival have been bringing their fashion A-game to the red carpet. Amongst our favorites this weekend? Three dazzling choices by Salma Hayek, Jessica Chastain and Jennifer Lawrence. Though Hayek chose a straightforward strapless silhouette for the premiere of Saint Laurent, the intense pink by Saint Laurent, aptly, really packed the punch. Plus, the look was in the details. Rather than overly fancy accessories, she chose a black leather studded clutch from the design house. And with the seaside location, her loose highlighted curls were a smart finish. (But it wasn’t all about looks for the actress. Hayek took the red carpet opportunity to support the missing Nigerian schoolgirls by holding up a sign that read: #BringBackOurGirls.) Chastain, meanwhile, also knew her way around the color wheel. For the premiere of her latest film The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, the red-haired beauty played up her assets. Wearing an asymmetrical Atelier Versace gown in vivid blue, Chastain was prime example of how to dress for one’s complexion and hair-color. Plus, the gentle draping at the waist, matching Roger Vivier heels and soft Old Hollywood waves added just the right touch of refined elegance. Last but certainly not least, JLaw’s look was no-fuss but hit all the right notes for a film party. To celebrate The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I, the actress wore a layered ensemble just breezy enough for the occasion. Lawrence donned a Dior cobalt tank dress under a sheer, flowy gown. The wow factor? The contrasting emerald green Irene Neuwirth earrings that were an unconventional but smashing pick. Looking for more red carpet fashion highlights? See the Stars Who Hit the Party Circuit This Weekend to Celebrate the Grammys

It wouldn’t be music’s biggest night without the parties! From the days leading up to the 56th annual Grammy Awards to just hours afterwards, music’s biggest players came out in style this weekend—including new BFFs Taylor Swift and Grammy-winner Lorde, and Katy Perry with John Mayer— to celebrate the nominees and winners of this year’s award show. First, Roc Nation kicked off the awards celebration with their pre-Grammy Brunch presented by MAC Viva Glam, where InStyle.com caught up with Rihanna, who received a nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with Mikky Ekko for their hit song, “Stay.” “That’s one of my favorite songs I’ve ever sang and performed,” Rihanna tells reporters. “I’m really excited about that.”

Fast-forward to post-Grammys, where the stars came together for numerous fetes including Billboard’s 2nd annual after-party, where Modern Family‘s Ariel Winter couldn’t help gushing over Beyonce and Jay Z’s “Drunk in Love” opening number. “I loved her performance! She is perfect and her vocals are always on point,” Winter tells InStyle.com. We second that!
