Botkier Launches Its First-Ever Jewelry Collection

You can now match your arm candy to your Botkier bag! The accessories brand best known for offering practical totes and satchels has just launched its first-ever jewelry collection. With prices ranging from $ 58 to $ 188, the line delivers an assortment of bracelets, rings, and necklaces available now on botkier.com.

In the brand’s signature no-fuss style, the collection features zipper-adorned leather cuffs ($ 128) with magnetic closures for effortless wear. “It feels really good to snap these on and off,” designer, Monica Botkier, tells InStyle. “They’re all about ease, function, and fun.”

Like the bags, the pieces are made to be efficient. “Creating the custom hardware of the bags and working in metals that convey a unique point of view is much like designing jewelry,” Botkier says. But there is one main difference when it comes to the design process of a leather cuff and its lookalike satchel ($ 248). “Handbags follow my strict function code and have a lot of practical punch, whereas jewelry is decorative,” Botkier says.

One thing that the brand’s totes and bling have in common? The same signature detailing. “Zippers are one of the most functional pieces to add to any item,” Botkier says. “They inherently have a biker feel or punk-rock vibe, but they can also be very sleek.” She adds, “It’s the rocker-chic girl in all of us that can relate to that sensibility.”

And while it may only seem sensible to sport the same metallic hue on both your wrist and your shoulder, Botkier encourages switching it up a bit. “I definitely like to mix and match my gold and silver tones,” she says. “Bag hardware and jewelry don’t have to match.”

Giveaway Alert! Tweet for a Chance to Win Abbie Cornish’s Slight Jewelry Earrings

We’re well-acquainted with the statement piece (that standout item in your wardrobe that consistently incites oohs and aahs without fail), but only lately has that attention-grabbing element traveled upward to the earlobes. We’ve outwardly professed our love for ear jackets and the equally eye-catching ear cuff, but now we’re swooning over Slight Jewelry’s quirky rose gold stunners, which draw on the swirly geometric motifs and ornate embellishments of the art deco movement. What’s more, Amanda Campbell, the designer of the Brooklyn-based brand, prides herself on using ethically sourced diamonds and repurposed vintage jewelry to create each unique, handcrafted piece. For a rebellious look, you can try combining two shapes, as Cornish did with her serpentine hoop and spiral spike stud.

And if you’re craving statement lobes ASAP, fear not, because Cornish’s earrings can be yours! We partnered with Slight Jewelry to give away one pair of the rose gold vermeil hoops to five lucky readers. To enter for a chance to win, snap a shot of yourself donning your most stand-out earpieces and tweet it to @InStyle with the hashtag #instylebling. Cameron Diaz on Her First Watch, Feeling Sexy In Accessories, and Being Jealous of Coco Chanel’s Jewelry Collection

If you’re anything like Cameron Diaz, you’ll never forget your first watch. “I was 18, I just learned to dive, and I was going on this two week scuba diving trip, and I had my eye on this black dial, men’s dive watch in stainless steel. I got my money, went and got it, and I wore it forever! I still have it,” Diaz tells InStyle.com exclusively during the grand opening of Tag Heuer‘s New York flagship store. It must have been fate that Diaz’s very first watch was a Tag, given that she is the brand’s fashionwire.com/celebrity-fashion” target=”_self”>celebrity ambassador.

So as Tag’s spokesperson and one of Hollywood’s sexiest ladies, how does wearing a watch make Diaz feel extra sexy? “What I love about Tag is that I have pieces like the Aquaracer, or the Link Lady that are really jewelry for me. When I wear them, I wear them a little loose, more like a bracelet,” Diaz says. “Then I have my Monaco, which is like my big dude man watch. It’s chunky and sexy,” Diaz laughingly admits. ”So for me, it’s being feminine, it’s being masculine, it’s playing to all those things all at once or being very specific to one thing just because that’s how I’m feeling,” she explains. “I find it—as anything you wear—being something that expresses how you feel inside, what you’re in that moment, and what you’re feeling about yourself.”

When Diaz isn’t working out alongside her trainer Teddy Bass or filming Annie as Miss Hannigan (which is now in post-production), Diaz likes to dress up her look with a few simple jewelry flourishes. “I love my rings and I do like the combo of my rings and my watch,” she says. “If I do something that’s flashier, it’s usually just one piece.” Which begs the question of whether she follows Coco Chanel’s famed rule of removing at least one accessory before leaving the house. “No, because I don’t feel like I over do it,” Diaz laughs. “But you know, if I was Coco Chanel, I would probably be putting a lot of jewelry on because she had access to Chanel costume jewelry at some point didn’t she, so I would have said the same thing!”
