Happy 45th Birthday, Gwen Stefani! From Punk Princess to Glamour Queen, See Her Best Beauty Moments

Happy birthday, Gwen Stefani! The positively ageless performer turns 45 today. Best known for being the frontwoman of No Doubt, Stefani has certainly come a long way since her combat boot-wearing and mesh top-rocking days (though we’re still big fans of her punk rock roots!) The Voice coach and L.A.M.B. designer can put a glamorous spin on any outfit, as we saw at this year’s VMAs and Emmys, and isn’t afraid to stand out—in fact, her signature edgy-chic look is her trademark. “I’m the girl who would wear baggy jeans but didn’t forget to put on tons of makeup,” Stefani has said of her early days with No Doubt. And we wouldn’t want it any other way!

Happy Birthday, Nicole Richie! The Style Star Dishes On Ear Piercings and Technicolor Hair

Happy 33rd birthday, Nicole Richie! As creative director of House of Harlow 1960, mom of two, and star of the hilarious web reality series and VH1 show Candidly Nicole, Richie is talented in multiple ways. But she’s probably best known for looking incredibly on-point on and off the red carpet, and for sparking style trends, two of which gained serious momentum this year—multiple piercings and pastel tresses.

Her ear piercings—she has nine total, five on one lobe and four on the other—are actually a birthday tradition. “I do one piercing a year for my birthday, although I just hit cartilage, and it was brutal,” Richie previously revealed to InStyle . “I don’t think I’m doing it again, like how high can I really go? That’s it for me; the jig is up.”

She may be done with piercings, but Richie’s colorful strands are still gaining traction. After bleaching her hair twice (a process that Richie said took “forever“) to dye it a pretty lavender hue, she switched things up four months later to debut a cerulean shade. “I was just ready for a change and I thought, once you bleach your hair, you might as well go through the colors,” she stated matter-of-factly. “Because I’m going to be 33, when is this really going to happen again?”

We’re on the lookout for her next technicolor choice, but in the meantime, let’s honor her 33rd birthday with a look at her transformation, from when she was 11-years-old in 1992 to present day.

Happy 44th Birthday, Melissa McCarthy!

Happy birthday, Melissa McCarthy! The actress, best known for her Oscar-nominated role in Bridesmaids and her Emmy-nominated show Mike & Molly, turns 44 today. Though her comedic timing is always on-point, the mother of two has really come to her own in terms of styling. Last night, we spotted McCarthy in custom Marchesa and in a George Kotsiopoulos original at this year’s Golden Globes. “I’m completely delighted by people who think, ‘I don’t care what anybody else thinks, I look great in this, and I rock it and I love it,’ McCarthy tells People. “It’s such a delightful sort of confidence.” Hear, hear!

Happy 17th Birthday, Kylie Jenner!

Happy Birthday, Kylie Jenner! At just 17-years-old, the reality TV star has already made quite the name for herself by launching a modeling career, designing a women’s clothing line for PacSun and releasing a science-fiction novel with older sister Kendall. Talk about keeping busy, but we wouldn’t expect anything less when you come from one of the most famous families in the world.

The fashion-forward teenager, whose spunky style is quickly rising in the ranks of those best-dressed, has recently announced her intentions to pursue an acting career and debuted those talents in a promo video for the 2014 Much Music Video Awards in June, an event she co-hosted with Kendall. But even as older sis (who is nominated for one of our Social Media Awards) is beginning to carve herself out a place among the fashion elite with her modeling career, we’re confident it won’t be long until Kylie’s audacious personality boosts her into the spotlight. Watch out Olsen twins, there’s a new dynamic sister duo in town!

Happy 41st Birthday, Neil Patrick Harris!

June 15, 2014 @ 1:04 pm

It’s a big day for Neil Patrick Harris! The How I Met Your Mother alum is not only turning 41 today, but is also celebrating Father’s Day, alongside longtime partner, David Burtka. Doting dad to son, Gideon, and daughter, Harper, the star has come a long way since his Doogie Howser days, swapping his doctor’s coat for a well-tailored suit and tie a la Barney Stinson; and most recently, a pair of 4-inch heels and fishnets for his performance in Broadway’s Hedwig and the Angry Inch, for which he recently won a Tony award. Harris has worn many hats throughout the years, but fatherhood may just be his favorite role. “The older they get, the more I love being a dad,” the actor tells People. So sweet!

Happy 53rd Birthday, Michael J. Fox! Take a Look Back at the Actor’s Family Ties Days

Happy 53rd birthday, Michael J. Fox! With a lengthy acting roster that boasts some of the greatest movie and television characters of a generation—like Back to the Future’s zealous Marty McFly and the precocious, well-dressed Alex P. Keaton from Family Ties—the Canadian-American actor has enjoyed a successful career spanning more than 40 years. Fox has earned tributes, including multiple Emmys and Golden Globes, for his performances as a lead actor as well as guest roles on shows such as The Good Wife, Rescue Me, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Most recently, the actor starred in NBC’s The Michael J. Fox Show, which ran for one season.

The husband and father-of-four is also an aggressive advocate for Parkinson’s disease research since being diagnosed with the condition in 1991. He founded the Michael J. Fox Foundation in 2000 to raise awareness and resources for a cure and gathered support from many of Hollywood’s most influential players. In 2007, Fox was named among Time’s 100 people “whose power, talent or moral example is transforming the world” for his work with the disease.
