Could This Be Gwen Stefani’s Favorite Print?

Everyone’s got a signature style. Kanye West has his closet of luxe hoodies, the Duchess of Cambridge has her royally cool slew of sophisticated coat dresses, and Gwen Stefani has her rockstar supply of stripes. In fact, as perhaps a public declaration of her love for them, Stefani has been snapped in her favorite stripes on more than one occasion. The proof? All the times in the past few months where she has, no doubt, wore her stripes on her sleeve.

Skinny Lines

Stefani takes nearly identical pullovers but tweaks how she pairs them. styled the same way, but with completely different pairings. She casually half-tucked a Pam & Gela top ($ 295; pamandgela.com) into paint-splattered boyfriend jeans (right). A few weeks later, she goes back to black and white skinny stripes, pairing them with distressed denim. She swapped out her red cat-eye frames for white ones, and her crazy cut-out heels for strappy ones.

Bold Bands

The platinum blonde bombshell pulled off two distinct looks with the same knit and frames. She first tucked it into a pair of slouchy utilitarian jeans with a camo bomber tied at her waist, complete with maroon booties (right), and then paired the top with belted destroyed boyfriend jeans, a black beanie, and Pharrell Williams’s polka-dot Adidas Stan Smiths the second time around.

Patch-Riddled Stripes

To support Pharrell Williams’s Adidas Originals collection, she stepped out in his designs at two red carpet events, gravitating toward happy patch-riddled stripes both times. Her look? Slightly eccentric, contentedly whimsical, and uniquely Gwen.

See Our 3 Favorite Looks From the Cannes Film Festival This Weekend!

While we’re lounging in our relaxed weekend gear, the ladies of the Cannes International Film Festival have been bringing their fashion A-game to the red carpet. Amongst our favorites this weekend? Three dazzling choices by Salma Hayek, Jessica Chastain and Jennifer Lawrence. Though Hayek chose a straightforward strapless silhouette for the premiere of Saint Laurent, the intense pink by Saint Laurent, aptly, really packed the punch. Plus, the look was in the details. Rather than overly fancy accessories, she chose a black leather studded clutch from the design house. And with the seaside location, her loose highlighted curls were a smart finish. (But it wasn’t all about looks for the actress. Hayek took the red carpet opportunity to support the missing Nigerian schoolgirls by holding up a sign that read: #BringBackOurGirls.) Chastain, meanwhile, also knew her way around the color wheel. For the premiere of her latest film The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, the red-haired beauty played up her assets. Wearing an asymmetrical Atelier Versace gown in vivid blue, Chastain was prime example of how to dress for one’s complexion and hair-color. Plus, the gentle draping at the waist, matching Roger Vivier heels and soft Old Hollywood waves added just the right touch of refined elegance. Last but certainly not least, JLaw’s look was no-fuss but hit all the right notes for a film party. To celebrate The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I, the actress wore a layered ensemble just breezy enough for the occasion. Lawrence donned a Dior cobalt tank dress under a sheer, flowy gown. The wow factor? The contrasting emerald green Irene Neuwirth earrings that were an unconventional but smashing pick. Looking for more red carpet fashion highlights? Guess Girl Priyanka Chopra’s Favorite Item in Her Closet is a Pair of Ripped Jeans from 10th Grade

International actress and singer Priyanka Chopra wears everything from traditional Indian garb onscreen to designer couture and Zara offscreen, but on most occasions, she’s happy as a clam just bumming around in her favorite wardrobe staple — jeans. So it couldn’t be more fitting that the  31-year-old star just so happens to be the newest Guess girl.

Turns out, there’s a fun and aww-worthy backstory to her love of her sporting the true blue; there’s one special pair (which she calls “a piece of art”) in her closet that started it all. ”I have these jeans, I don’t even remember the brand because now they’re faded out, since I was in tenth grade,” Chopra told InStyle.com exclusively at a New York party thrown in her honor by PAPER magazine and Guess on January 15th.

“I saved up money for a month and bought [them], and slowly, you know, I ripped them! I’m a really great ripper. I am! I’m the most amazing ripper of clothes. I have all my friends in school at that point sign things on it and who wrote with markers. It’s my favorite piece of clothing in my closet. I still wear it!”

While Chopra is pretty comfortable in casual wear, that doesn’t stop her from turning heads with glamorous looks and her signature poise. Her selections come down to knowing exactly the feeling she’s going for as well as trusting those who know her best. ”You know how you wake up in the morning and you’re like, ‘I feel like wearing orange.’ Or you may feel like wearing certain clothes, and you have to have a stylist who understands very well what you’re feeling, because only if you’re comfortable in something are you gonna look amazing,” says Chopra.

And given Chopra’s whirlwind global schedule, we’re pretty sure she’s got that knowing down to a science. Her year ahead is already looking as busy as 2013, which she wrapped on a high note: being named Maxim India‘s hottest woman of the year. She’s releasing a new single titled I Can’t Make You Love Me in the UK on January 20th, and then she’s off to Mumbai to co-host the 59th Filmfare Awards at the end of the month.

Chopra’s confident attitude is clearly translating into jaw-dropping looks befitting a former Miss World (2000). So what feeling is the actress going for when she’s choosing among couturiers? Says Chopra, “My stylist comes and tells me that ‘these are the most amazing pieces from designers.’ And I end up picking the one that I feel like a star in!”

Yeah, we’re feeling that “star” thing about Chopra too! To see more photos, follow Priyanka on Instagram.
