Cameron Diaz on Her First Watch, Feeling Sexy In Accessories, and Being Jealous of Coco Chanel’s Jewelry Collection

If you’re anything like Cameron Diaz, you’ll never forget your first watch. “I was 18, I just learned to dive, and I was going on this two week scuba diving trip, and I had my eye on this black dial, men’s dive watch in stainless steel. I got my money, went and got it, and I wore it forever! I still have it,” Diaz tells InStyle.com exclusively during the grand opening of Tag Heuer‘s New York flagship store. It must have been fate that Diaz’s very first watch was a Tag, given that she is the brand’s fashionwire.com/celebrity-fashion” target=”_self”>celebrity ambassador.

So as Tag’s spokesperson and one of Hollywood’s sexiest ladies, how does wearing a watch make Diaz feel extra sexy? “What I love about Tag is that I have pieces like the Aquaracer, or the Link Lady that are really jewelry for me. When I wear them, I wear them a little loose, more like a bracelet,” Diaz says. “Then I have my Monaco, which is like my big dude man watch. It’s chunky and sexy,” Diaz laughingly admits. ”So for me, it’s being feminine, it’s being masculine, it’s playing to all those things all at once or being very specific to one thing just because that’s how I’m feeling,” she explains. “I find it—as anything you wear—being something that expresses how you feel inside, what you’re in that moment, and what you’re feeling about yourself.”

When Diaz isn’t working out alongside her trainer Teddy Bass or filming Annie as Miss Hannigan (which is now in post-production), Diaz likes to dress up her look with a few simple jewelry flourishes. “I love my rings and I do like the combo of my rings and my watch,” she says. “If I do something that’s flashier, it’s usually just one piece.” Which begs the question of whether she follows Coco Chanel’s famed rule of removing at least one accessory before leaving the house. “No, because I don’t feel like I over do it,” Diaz laughs. “But you know, if I was Coco Chanel, I would probably be putting a lot of jewelry on because she had access to Chanel costume jewelry at some point didn’t she, so I would have said the same thing!”

What to wear on a night out in a casino

For many people, their first images of casino gaming may come from various entertainment sources such as film and television. You often see players dressed to the nines in tuxedos and evening gowns accessorized with jewels. While this is an appealing image, don’t rely on everything you see on television programs to determine what to wear for an evening out on the casino. Actually, this image of casino fashion is rather skewed and only exists in a few casinos around the world.

Smart clothing is generally in order when prepping for a night out at the casino. If a casino states that their dress code is smart or casual, this means that one’s legs
generally must be covered which excludes shorts from being worn. This is especially true in many casinos across Europe. Also, included in this are not wearing hooded sweatshirts or football jerseys. As night approaches, expect some casinos to more to a stricter policy. For men, this may require them to wear a jacket. While ties can be worn with these jackets, they usually aren’t required at most casinos. A nice shirt worn under the jacket would be an excellent choice for men to wear when planning on enjoying a night at the casino.

For the ladies, this can be a bit different. However, slacks can be worn. Dresses aren’t automatic requirements. However, this doesn’t mean wearing your cute little black dress isn’t a good idea. Avoid wearing high heels as this can often be uncomfortable. Many casino goers may need to do a bit of walking and one doesn’t want to bring home a set of sore feet at the end of the night. Knowing what to wear to a land based casino is definitely different than one’s attire when playing online casino games at sites such as http://www.casinoonline.co.nz where you can get away with plying in your pajamas if you like.

See the Stars Who Hit the Party Circuit This Weekend to Celebrate the Grammys

It wouldn’t be music’s biggest night without the parties! From the days leading up to the 56th annual Grammy Awards to just hours afterwards, music’s biggest players came out in style this weekend—including new BFFs Taylor Swift and Grammy-winner Lorde, and Katy Perry with John Mayer— to celebrate the nominees and winners of this year’s award show. First, Roc Nation kicked off the awards celebration with their pre-Grammy Brunch presented by MAC Viva Glam, where InStyle.com caught up with Rihanna, who received a nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with Mikky Ekko for their hit song, “Stay.” “That’s one of my favorite songs I’ve ever sang and performed,” Rihanna tells reporters. “I’m really excited about that.”

Fast-forward to post-Grammys, where the stars came together for numerous fetes including Billboard’s 2nd annual after-party, where Modern Family‘s Ariel Winter couldn’t help gushing over Beyonce and Jay Z’s “Drunk in Love” opening number. “I loved her performance! She is perfect and her vocals are always on point,” Winter tells InStyle.com. We second that! Guess Girl Priyanka Chopra’s Favorite Item in Her Closet is a Pair of Ripped Jeans from 10th Grade

International actress and singer Priyanka Chopra wears everything from traditional Indian garb onscreen to designer couture and Zara offscreen, but on most occasions, she’s happy as a clam just bumming around in her favorite wardrobe staple — jeans. So it couldn’t be more fitting that the  31-year-old star just so happens to be the newest Guess girl.

Turns out, there’s a fun and aww-worthy backstory to her love of her sporting the true blue; there’s one special pair (which she calls “a piece of art”) in her closet that started it all. ”I have these jeans, I don’t even remember the brand because now they’re faded out, since I was in tenth grade,” Chopra told InStyle.com exclusively at a New York party thrown in her honor by PAPER magazine and Guess on January 15th.

“I saved up money for a month and bought [them], and slowly, you know, I ripped them! I’m a really great ripper. I am! I’m the most amazing ripper of clothes. I have all my friends in school at that point sign things on it and who wrote with markers. It’s my favorite piece of clothing in my closet. I still wear it!”

While Chopra is pretty comfortable in casual wear, that doesn’t stop her from turning heads with glamorous looks and her signature poise. Her selections come down to knowing exactly the feeling she’s going for as well as trusting those who know her best. ”You know how you wake up in the morning and you’re like, ‘I feel like wearing orange.’ Or you may feel like wearing certain clothes, and you have to have a stylist who understands very well what you’re feeling, because only if you’re comfortable in something are you gonna look amazing,” says Chopra.

And given Chopra’s whirlwind global schedule, we’re pretty sure she’s got that knowing down to a science. Her year ahead is already looking as busy as 2013, which she wrapped on a high note: being named Maxim India‘s hottest woman of the year. She’s releasing a new single titled I Can’t Make You Love Me in the UK on January 20th, and then she’s off to Mumbai to co-host the 59th Filmfare Awards at the end of the month.

Chopra’s confident attitude is clearly translating into jaw-dropping looks befitting a former Miss World (2000). So what feeling is the actress going for when she’s choosing among couturiers? Says Chopra, “My stylist comes and tells me that ‘these are the most amazing pieces from designers.’ And I end up picking the one that I feel like a star in!”

Yeah, we’re feeling that “star” thing about Chopra too! To see more photos, follow Priyanka on Instagram.

What Do the Stars Love About Designer Tory Burch? Find Out What They Said at Burch’s Rodeo Drive Opening

For Tory Burch‘s grand opening of her West Coast flagship store she enlisted a few of her close friends to help celebrate (and even blogged about it!), including Jessica Alba, Brooklyn Decker, Hailee Steinfeld, Emmy Rossum, Jaime King, and Camila Alves, dressed in Burch’s very own designs. With green hydrangeas arrangements placed throughout the 4,700 square-foot space, guests enjoyed Philly cheesesteaks (a homage to Burch’s hometown), spring rolls, and sugar-dusted doughnut bits, while they sipped on Champagne and Tory’s favorite cocktail—the Southside made with vodka, triple sec, fresh lime juice, and a sprig of lavender.

This may be Burch’s fourth boutique in Los Angeles and her 13th store in California, but it’s her very first Rodeo Drive location. “I think Rodeo is such an iconic location,” the designer told InStyle.com. “I never really dreamed of having a store here and when we started this company, we hoped that one day we would,” she added. Not only did she make that dream come true, but she even custom-designed the space with architect Daniel Romualdez and gave the brick and mortar location a personal touch, complete with black and white photos of the Burch family, flea market finds like tables and mirrors the designer scooped up while traveling in Paris and Morocco, and even needlepoint pillows adorned with quotes from Burch’s childhood, including “Everything begets thee to me.”

Within the the three-story boutique, Burch’s entire collection of ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, including her new fragrance, will be available to shop (not to mention the designer already has a loyal Rodeo Drive following). “I love [Tory's] clothing because it works for the every girl,” Decker told InStyle.com. “You could be a tomboy or an eclectic, crazy quirky style kind of girl or super preppy, and her clothes kind of speak to everyone.” To find what the others stars love about Burch, look through our gallery.

Hopscotch, Power Wheels, and Purse-Shaped Cakes: Stella McCartney’s Fun Fall 2014 Presentation

If there is one designer who knows how to put the fun in presenting a collection, it’s Stella McCartney. Last night, the designer hosted an intimate launch to showcase her fall 2014 collection at the Harold Pratt House & Peterson Hall in New York City, complete with hopscotch and miniature Escalade power wheels. Close friends—including Liv Tyler, Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal, Susan Sarandon, Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld, Alec and Hilaria Baldwin—also stopped by to join the fun.

As guests indulged in small bites, cakes in the shapes of Stella’s signature handbags, Beluga Vodka cocktails, and flutes of Veuve Clicquot champagne, models sported pieces from Stella’s new line including houndstooth and polka dot-printed pieces, along with designs featuring English artist Gary Hume’s graphic drawings, and masculine-inspired footwear (all sustainable of course). As much as we love the new collection, we can’t help but wonder which of McCartney’s friends did a round of hopscotch. Emma Thompson’s Post-Awards Show Ritual Involves Gin and Furry Socks

Awards season is heading into high gear, and this year’s nominees are already feeling the pressure—literally. “I’ve got Band-Aids on every single toe!” Emma Thompson told InStyle.com yesterday at one of the season’s first big nights, the National Board of Review Awards Gala held at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. “This is a lovely evening because you’re not too nervous because you know you’ve won. It’s true!” said Thompson who was presented the award for best actress for her portrayal of Mary Poppins author P.L. Travers in Saving Mr. Banks from good friend Meryl Streep (whom she enthusiastically embraced on the red carpet).

The film, which chronicles Walt Disney’s tumultuous fight to obtain the rights to the magical story, was an eye opening experience for Thompson. “I learned an awful lot about him. I didn’t know he had the childhood that he had,” she told reporters. “He was brought up in a very tough world, and you can see why he might want to create an endlessly perfect environment and childhood.” However, she was quick to point out that many of his stories have a darker undertone, including her favorite of his film’s, Dumbo! “Any elephant on any area I would love. The big ears!”

With the buzz continuing to surround her portrayal in the heartwarming film, we’re sure she’ll be heading to many more awards shows (including this Sunday’s Golden Globes for which she’s nominated for Best Actress). Her post-show ritual? “It’s really nice to go back and put on your dressing gown and a big pair of furry socks and have a large gin.” Sounds like a great idea to us!
